CNC router design and machining for beginners!
This is a hands on course where you will learn the basics of designing and creating machine toolpaths in Carbide Create, then you'll use our Shapeoko4 CNC router to create a simple wooden coaster. You'll learn the building blocks of design and Computer Aided Machining, focussing on 2D, but this will give you the foundation to create complex 2D and 3D designs. No prior CAD/design experience is necessary.
Following completion of the course, Cahoots Workshop members will have access to our Shapeoko4 to make their own creations.
What to bring:
Closed toed shoes, and warm clothes (it can be a bit cold in the workshop)
Lunch and snacks (tea, coffee and water will be available)
Your own laptop with Carbide Create installed (free to download) - if you don't have access to a laptop, we have one that you can borrow, please check that this is available before booking
